Job Summary:

Cleveland Clinic's Akron General Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) team. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients with neurological conditions, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with neurological conditions, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Develop and update patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, involving patients and families in the planning process.
  • Administer medications and treatments, and document patient care and progress.
  • Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient outcomes, contributing to the improvement of care and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Delegate tasks and assignments, serve as a resource person, and mentor junior staff members.
  • Participate in department-specific duties, including reviewing and documenting patient progress and discharge goals, participating in patient care and discharge planning conferences, and communicating patient information to the healthcare team.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Willingness to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and TNCC certification, and complete CVVHD training within one year of employment.
  • Preferred qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
