Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Arkansas Heart Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist professional staff in providing care for the operative patient before, during, and after surgery.
  • Ensure proper instrumentation and supplies are available on the surgical field and/or in the operating room.
  • Perform scrub and circulating duties in the operating room, including preparing the operating room and equipment for procedures.
  • Apply principles of asepsis, infection control, and medical ethics to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
  • Train newly assigned personnel and assume responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, and equipment maintenance.
  • Participate in direct patient care and ensure a safe and comforting environment.
  • Perform clinical quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, physician satisfaction, and staff satisfaction.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of allied health services preferred.
  • Valid certificate from Surgical Technologist program preferred (work experience of three years will compensate for certification).
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Minimum of three years continuous experience in an operating room required.
