Obstetric and Gynecologic Nurse Practitioner

Role: Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)
Are you passionate about delivering exceptional outpatient care in obstetrics and gynecology to women in need? This role offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated team of Women's Health professionals in a supportive environment focused on community health.
The Women's Health Division at Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center is seeking a qualified WHNP or CNM for a weekday outpatient position. In this role, you will provide a mix of obstetric care (including prenatal and postpartum services) and gynecologic care (preventive and problem-focused visits), along with gynecologic procedures as required. Our obstetric patients receive care through our collaboration with a reputable physician and midwifery service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver preventive gynecologic services, including well-woman exams and contraceptive counseling.
- Manage prenatal and postpartum care, addressing common obstetric concerns.
- Order necessary laboratory tests and imaging, and prescribe appropriate treatments.
- Educate patients on health-related topics and provide necessary resources.
- Engage in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and external healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters.
- Adhere to infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain certification.
Qualifications:
Education: Completion of an accredited Women's Health Nurse Practitioner or Nurse-Midwifery program.
Experience: Certification by the National Certification Corporation or American Midwifery Certification Board, with eligibility for licensure in the state. While a minimum of one year of experience is preferred, new graduates with a commitment to the community will be considered.
Skills: Proficient understanding of clinical standards in obstetric and gynecologic care, effective communication abilities, and strong organizational skills.
