Job Summary:
The Banquet Captain is a key member of the food and beverage team at Auro Hotels, responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of banquets and events. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the setup and service of banquets and events
- Ensure that all food and beverage standards are met, including presentation, quality, and timeliness
- Manage the banquet team, including servers, bartenders, and other support staff
- Communicate effectively with clients, including event planners, caterers, and other stakeholders
- Monitor and control costs, including labor, food, and beverage expenses
- Ensure that all safety and sanitation protocols are followed
- Conduct daily stand-up meetings to review the day's events and assignments
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in hospitality or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a hotel or resort setting
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and multitask
- Knowledge of food and beverage safety and sanitation protocols
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods
Working Conditions:
The Banquet Captain will work in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure to meet deadlines and ensure the smooth execution of events. The role requires strong communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.
