Garrison Associates, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantitative Portfolio Analyst to join their Portfolio Analytics Group in Manhattan. This Full-Time, permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to take ownership of investment and risk management-related firm-level analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Core Routine Analytics: Own and enhance existing manager selection, market risk, attribution, and reporting analyses, ensuring consistency and accuracy of system outputs and reports published by the PAG team.
  2. Projects for Improvements and Updates: Execute projects for improvements to the analytics frameworks, collaborating with Investments/Risk/PAG/IT teams.
  3. Ad-hoc Research and Analyses: Provide analytical support to CIO/CRO/PMs in ad-hoc custom research analyses, recommending solutions and keeping stakeholders informed upon execution.

Requirements:

  • Innate Curiosity and Meticulousness: A natural curiosity drive to understand systems at a fundamental level, identifying potential inaccuracies, and addressing them proactively.
  • Exceptional Communication and Relationship-Building Skills: Strong communication skills and ability to foster relationships with demanding stakeholders across Investments, Risk, Finance, and IT.
  • Analytical Problem-Solving Expertise: Proven analytical and conceptual problem-solving track record, navigating the risk framework, and embarking on research-driven mini-projects.
  • Project Management Proficiency: Inherently organized candidate adept at project management, setting realistic yet ambitious milestones, and managing communication with all stakeholders.
  • Foundational Investment Theory Knowledge: Deep understanding of investment theory, particularly relevant to a macro-oriented asset management context.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience: In portfolio construction, manager selection, or portfolio analytics at a first-class investment firm.
  • Graduate degree: In financial engineering, computational finance, economics, statistics, computer science, finance, mathematics, or related quantitative field.
