JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

As a Lead Manager, you will oversee a team of Commercial Relationship Managers, focusing on business expansion, client relationship cultivation, and portfolio oversight. Your role will include mentoring and evaluating the performance of your direct reports, while also spearheading the development of new business connections. You will ensure that all client relationship management and portfolio administration align with established credit policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Guide team members through intricate account relationships and mentor less-experienced colleagues on credit policies and complex financing structures.
  • Provide strategic advice to team members regarding commercial lending and deposit acquisition practices, ensuring adherence to organizational policies.
  • Analyze financial and related data to assess the creditworthiness of prospects and evaluate specific loan requests.
  • Negotiate terms for credit extension, including costs, repayment methods, and collateral requirements.
  • Monitor loan repayment activities and take appropriate actions for overdue accounts.
  • Advise clients on business management and financial matters when applicable.
  • Engage with major commercial accounts to foster new relationships and promote additional banking services to existing clients.
  • Cross-sell various banking services, including Wealth Management, Treasury Management, and Retail Services.
  • Collaborate with the Client Resource Team to achieve shared objectives for clients.
  • Act as a liaison for non-borrowing accounts and loan clients regarding other banking services.
  • Review and approve monthly expense reports.
  • Develop and maintain a network of Centers of Influence (COI) and referral sources.
  • Participate in joint calling initiatives with team members.
  • Engage in community and industry-specific events to enhance the bank's reputation.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this role, you will provide leadership and oversight to commercial bankers, coordinating and evaluating the performance of your unit while adhering to organizational policies and legal standards. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, appraising performance, and resolving employee issues.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years in commercial or business banking.
  • Completion of a credit training program.
  • At least 2 years of prior management experience in banking.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and well-organized.
  • Advanced skills in business development and presentations.
  • Strong credit and negotiation abilities.
  • Familiarity with non-borrowing products.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in financial analysis and analytical skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new software and systems.
  • Proven leadership capabilities in a team setting.
  • Deep understanding of credit policies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
