Position Overview:
The Clinical Service Nurse II role at Duke University Hospital focuses on delivering outstanding nursing care within the Pediatric Gastroenterology Department. This position involves triage support for pediatric patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage triage calls, resolving issues and coordinating follow-ups with healthcare providers.
- Assist with medication refills, referrals, and necessary documentation.
- Coordinate care, including diagnostic testing and outpatient appointments.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding care plans and procedures.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to unlicensed care providers.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with a typical schedule of Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM.
Expectations:
- Effectively multitask by documenting assessments, care plans, and evaluating patient status.
- Educate patients and families in alignment with nursing care objectives.
- Foster relationships with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Bachelor's or Associate's).

Licensure:
- Current North Carolina RN licensure or compact RN licensure required.
- BLS certification is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of nursing experience, including pediatric care.
- Experience in telephone triage or care coordination.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
