Academic Facilitator

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Academic Facilitator to join our team at Terra Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching psychology-related courses, developing curriculum materials, and providing academic support to students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach a range of psychology-related courses, including introductory psychology, abnormal psychology, and research methods;
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and course materials that meet the needs of diverse learners;
• Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback to help students achieve their academic goals;
• Provide academic support to students, including tutoring, advising, and mentoring;
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement college-wide initiatives that promote student success;
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in teaching and learning;
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and grades.

Requirements:

• A Master's degree in Psychology or a related field (including at least 18 graduate semester hours) which supports teaching of psychology-related topics;
• Two years of teaching experience preferred but not required;
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators;
• Proficiency in word-processing and presentation software, internet, and email;
• Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of students;
• Capability to teach in more than one discipline;
• Demonstrated ability to advise students;
• Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills;
• Effective problem-solving skills.

About the Opportunity:

This is a full-time, benefited position with a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
