Job Description

As an arborist technician at wright tree service, you will be responsible for working in a dynamic team environment to deliver high-quality tree care services to our customers. This role involves a variety of tasks, including cutting brush and logs, loading and unloading trucks, and operating equipment such as chainsaws and wood chippers.


Essential Functions
  • Use gasoline-powered chainsaws to cut brush, logs, and stumps of larger trees, working from the ground.
  • Load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris, or feed brush into a wood chipper.
  • Work around hazardous equipment and wear proper personal protective equipment.
  • Be exposed to all temperatures and weather conditions, and work in nature, potentially facing irritating plants, biting or stinging insects, dust, etc.
  • May work on rough terrain and help enforce on-the-job safety practices for crew members.
  • Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area, setting up barriers, warning signs, flags, etc.
  • Apply herbicides and growth regulators to stumps and brush.
  • Drive a truck with an attached brush chipper or other trailing unit, such as a trailer.

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Needs to be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times per day.
  • Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work tasks.
  • Must be able to write, read, and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.
  • Must be able to communicate with others and represent wright tree service in a professional manner.
  • Possess the ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis.
