Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Bus Monitor to assist our drivers in ensuring the well-being of students on our buses. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our passengers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor Passenger Safety: Ensure the safety of all passengers on the bus at all times.
  • Assist with Student Entry and Exit: Help students safely board and exit the bus.
  • Perform Safety Checks: Conduct regular safety checks on the bus to ensure the safety of all passengers.
  • Know Bus Routes and Monitor Passengers: Familiarize yourself with the bus routes and remain alert to monitor the welfare of passengers while in transit.
  • Check for Sleeping Children: Regularly check the bus for sleeping children and ensure their safety.
  • Assist with Vehicle Operations: Assist the driver in safely directing the vehicle when backing up.
  • Conduct Emergency Evacuations: Conduct emergency evacuations from the bus, including the use of emergency doors.
  • Communicate with Drivers and Parents: Communicate behavior problems and conditions of various bus stops with the driver and liaise with parents as needed.
  • Maintain Bus Cleanliness: Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of assigned buses.
  • Attend Field Trips and Events: Occasionally attend field trips and special events to ensure passenger safety.
Qualifications
  • Experience Working with Children: 1+ year(s) of experience working with children or students.
  • Comprehensive Training: Complete comprehensive training program.
  • Background Checks: Pre-employment background checks.
