Legrand is excited to announce an opportunity for an Applications Engineer to join our Building Control Systems Wattstopper Team. This role involves providing pre-sales project support, application guidance, and product specifications for a diverse array of Wattstopper offerings, particularly in assisting Building Automation Integrators with lighting control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project lighting control requirements to ensure all objectives are successfully achieved.
- Deliver application engineering support for Wattstopper lighting controls, including Architectural Dimming Systems, Ethernet, BACnet, and Niagara networks, as well as tailored solutions.
- Conduct internal and external training on Building Automation Systems (BAS) networks and their functionalities.
- Provide comprehensive application engineering support, including design, operational sequence development, programming for control systems, and related tasks for Wattstopper lighting control systems.
- Examine electrical schematics, drawings, and specifications to align with specific Wattstopper products, ensuring compliance with project documentation.
- Develop and validate custom solutions from the standard product range.
- Oversee the generation of submittals, control programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting of Wattstopper systems.
- Support the sales team and assist in preparing quotations.
- Engage in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as necessary.
Essential Skills
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in Electrical or HVAC control systems, with proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of control systems, including dimming, energy management, and lighting controls.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Strong analytical abilities and effective communication skills.
- A collaborative team player.
- Self-motivated with minimal supervision required.
- Willingness to travel for training and support as necessary.
