We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at UNC Lenoir Health Care. As a key member of our Operating Room team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our mission to improve the health and well-being of our community.
Responsibilities- Assist registered nurses in creating a safe and supportive environment for patients undergoing surgery.
- Perform technical skills under the direct supervision of a physician or registered nurse.
- Provide direct patient care services and interact with patients and families in a compassionate and professional manner.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest medical procedures and technologies.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate of an approved operating room course for surgical technologists preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required.
- CPR certification.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, manual dexterity, and ability to work as a team member.
This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, radiation, chemicals, airborne pathogens, and electrical hazards. You must be able to maintain emotional stability and work effectively in stressful situations.
Physical Requirements- Ability to stand for lengthy periods.
- Ability to move stretchers, carts, and equipment.
- Ability to carry and lift instrument sets and equipment.
- Ability to maintain emotional stability and assist with patient positioning.
