Job Overview

i9 Sports - Loudon & Northern Fairfax, VA is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Basketball Instructor & Official to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a pivotal role in the development of young basketball players, teaching fundamental skills, officiating games, and facilitating practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruction and Skill Development:
    • Teach young athletes the fundamental skills and techniques of basketball, including dribbling, passing, shooting, and defending.
    • Implement age-appropriate drills and exercises to enhance players' basketball abilities.
    • Provide constructive feedback to help players improve their performance.
  • Game Officiating:
    • Serve as an official for youth basketball games, ensuring fair play and adherence to rules.
    • Maintain a professional and unbiased demeanor while officiating games.
  • Safety and Supervision:
    • Ensure the safety of all participants during practices and games.
    • Supervise and manage groups of young athletes, maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Communication:
    • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, participants, and fellow staff members.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience coaching or playing basketball.
  • Knowledge of basketball rules and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with children and parents.
  • A passion for youth sports and the development of young athletes.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
  • Availability to work each weekend of the given season.
  • Ability to efficiently solve problems.
  • Ability to motivate and manage others.
  • Extremely reliable and responsible.
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Must have own vehicle/reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass background check.
