As a key member of our staff, you will play a pivotal role in the development of young basketball players, teaching fundamental skills, officiating games, and facilitating practices.
Key Responsibilities- Instruction and Skill Development:
- Teach young athletes the fundamental skills and techniques of basketball, including dribbling, passing, shooting, and defending.
- Implement age-appropriate drills and exercises to enhance players' basketball abilities.
- Provide constructive feedback to help players improve their performance.
- Game Officiating:
- Serve as an official for youth basketball games, ensuring fair play and adherence to rules.
- Maintain a professional and unbiased demeanor while officiating games.
- Safety and Supervision:
- Ensure the safety of all participants during practices and games.
- Supervise and manage groups of young athletes, maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Communication:
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents, participants, and fellow staff members.
- Previous experience coaching or playing basketball.
- Knowledge of basketball rules and regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with children and parents.
- A passion for youth sports and the development of young athletes.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
- Availability to work each weekend of the given season.
- Ability to efficiently solve problems.
- Ability to motivate and manage others.
- Extremely reliable and responsible.
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Must have own vehicle/reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass background check.
