The Nurse Practitioner plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive medical consultations, routine patient management, and follow-up care as directed. This role necessitates specific competencies tailored to diverse patient populations. The position adheres to National Patient Safety Goals, reflecting the level of patient interaction required.
Key Responsibilities- Conducts thorough patient assessments to determine health status.
- Orders laboratory tests, radiological assessments, and other standard diagnostic procedures.
- Identifies actual or potential health issues based on collected data and formulates therapeutic interventions.
- Prescribes and initiates appropriate medications, treatments, and referrals based on analytical findings.
- Performs routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing (excluding tendons, arteries, or nerves), wound care, and blood draws, while managing uncomplicated conditions arising from infections, trauma, or other health issues.
- Provides patient education regarding prescribed treatments and medications.
The Nurse Practitioner operates under the supervision of a physician and the Operations Manager of Practice Management.
Physical DemandsThis position may entail additional physical demands and/or respiratory fit test requirements. There is a potential risk of exposure to infections, communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, and chemicals. Adherence to standard precautions is mandatory.
QualificationsApplicants must possess a Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, hold a current Nurse Practitioner license in Oklahoma, and maintain a valid BLS Certification. Effective communication skills in English are essential.
