**Job Description**

This position involves working as a member of the surgical team in our busy Department of Cardiac Surgery. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with cardiovascular surgical procedures, including endoscopic vessel harvesting, and providing postoperative care in an outpatient clinical setting. Additionally, they will be responsible for educating patients on their condition and treatment plan.

**Responsibilities**

  • Assist with cardiovascular surgical procedures
  • Provide endoscopic vessel harvesting
  • Conduct preoperative history and physical examination
  • Provide postoperative care in an outpatient clinical setting
  • Education of patients on their condition and treatment plan

**Requirements**

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Master's program
  • Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant in the state of Connecticut
  • Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant
  • 2+ years' experience in cardiovascular surgery preferred - open to hire the right new grad
  • First assistant experience, including endoscopic vein harvesting skills preferred
