Delivery Driver Job Summary

The primary function of the Delivery Driver is to facilitate the transfer of parts between Kenworth Sales locations and vendors/customers, ensuring seamless logistics and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pick-up and deliver parts from local suppliers and transport to designated KWS locations.
  • Verify all parts being delivered to other Kenworth Sales locations and pick up and verify all parts being returned to a different KWS location.
  • Perform after-hour deliveries, requiring dis-arming and arming of alarm systems and securing the site upon arrival and departure.
  • Deliver cores to the Parts Department, ensuring they are properly tagged and boxed.
  • Prepare and pick orders throughout the day as needed.
  • Assist with warehouse housekeeping and stocking parts.
  • Operate company vehicles in a safe manner and adhere to all traffic laws.
  • Ensure trucks are serviced and washed as needed.
  • Operate warehouse forklifts to load/unload delivery trucks.
  • Participate in an annual fiscal inventory.
Requirements:
  • Able to read and comprehend English instructions and information.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
  • Desire to learn all phases of business for possible promotion.
  • Experience in Shipping: knowledge of bills of lading, freight bills.
  • Packaging Skills: knowledge of how material should be packed to reach its destination economically and without damage.
  • Excellent organization and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate warehouse forklift and complete formal training program.
  • Experience in Customer Service and Delivery.
Working Conditions:

This position involves both sedentary and other work. For part of the shift, the employee will work at a desk in a warehouse sitting, doing paperwork, telephoning, filing, and ten-key. For part of the shift, the employee will stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach, moving about the dealership facility to communicate with managers, employees, and customers. Lifting of up to 50 lbs. without assistance on a daily basis, as well as heavier loads with forklifts and/or additional assistance will be required. The employee will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, and a variety of other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
