About the JobThis role involves supporting multiple MK 41 VLS customers as a Field Technician II. The successful candidate will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter by maintaining and testing MK 41 VLS equipment to stringent VLS requirements, thereby maintaining National Security.
Responsibilities- Fabricate, install, maintain, and repair electronic, mechanical, and/or other types of components and equipment.
- Work with the GDIT VLS Team to ensure operational status of contracted VLS work is completed to required procedures and specifications.
- Identify and correct any deficiencies found.
- Required Experience: 2 years of related USN Shipboard MK 41 VLS Shipboard maintenance.
- Required Technical Skills: Ability to assist in the Removal, Overhaul, Test, and/or Installation VLS Cell Hatches, Uptake Hatches, Deluge Valves, Deluge Hoses, Marotta Valves, Hy-Check Valves, Root and Isolation System Valves under direction supervision of qualified VLS System Maintenance Technician (SMT) or Test Director (TD) in accordance with NAVSEA requirements, Navy MRCs, VLS Authorized Procedures, and Technical Manuals.
- Security Clearance Level: Secret. Must have or be able to obtain both a security clearance and a DBIDS/CAC.
- Required Skills and Abilities: Solving, Communication, Microsoft Word and Excel, and understanding of basic Hand/Power Tools, Test Equipment, and Gauge Calibration. Heavy lifting is required and prolonged standing on Naval deck plates.
