Role Overview:
As a Triage Veterinary Technician, you will be instrumental in our cutting-edge facility, performing swift patient evaluations upon their arrival in the emergency unit.
Your skills will be crucial in assessing and prioritizing patients based on their condition and concerns, ensuring timely and effective treatment.Work Schedule:
Four 9-hour shifts, including one weekend shift. Shift hours: 6 AM - 3 PM and 3 PM - 12 AM. Compensation: $23 - $30 based on skills assessment.
Key Responsibilities:
Rapid Patient Evaluations:
Conduct evaluations within 15 minutes of patient arrival, prioritizing based on stability and utilizing a patient severity index.
Streamlined Operations:
Employ Smartflow's ER board and workflow templates for efficient patient management and organization.
Family Communication:
Provide timely updates and evaluations to families of patients, ensuring clear and open communication.
Telephone Management:
Address phone inquiries regarding patient care, resolving concerns and providing necessary information.
Additional Duties:
Patient Stabilization:
Assist in stabilizing patients through tasks such as IV catheter placement, administering medications and fluids, and performing CPR.
Documentation Accuracy:
Monitor and accurately document patient conditions in medical records.
Client Guidance:
Ensure proper discharge procedures with comprehensive client education on home care, medications, and monitoring.
Effective Team Communication:
Maintain clear communication with the patient care team regarding treatment plans and nursing care issues.
Technical Skills:
Exhibit proficiency in technical tasks such as catheter placement, venipuncture, and safe patient handling.
