Job Overview

SUMMARY: The Financial Planning & Analysis Team acts as a core resource for financial reporting and analytical support, delivering valuable insights to internal stakeholders across the organization. As a key member of this team, the Financial Planning Manager collaborates daily with various departments at both the Corporate and Casino levels, including Finance, Operations, Marketing, IT, Human Resources, and Property Leadership.

The Manager addresses analytical and operational challenges by crafting detailed, insightful, and practical analyses and reports that guide decision-making and fulfill business requirements. Additionally, the Manager supervises a team of analysts to ensure the delivery of high-quality insights to executive and property leadership, while also providing development tools. All outputs must be polished and appropriate for both internal and external presentations. The Financial Planning Manager reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the creation of dynamic, decision-support models tailored to a fast-paced business environment, covering areas such as:
    • Cash Flow Projections
    • Performance of Slot Machines and Table Games
    • Labor Modeling and Optimization
    • Operational Forecasting
  • Facilitate the annual budgeting and forecasting process by collaborating closely with senior executives and property leadership to develop comprehensive business plans.
  • Assist in the Capital Expenditure process at the property level through strategic planning, progress tracking, and fund management for future initiatives.
  • Design and maintain standardized reporting packages that effectively communicate key business indicators to relevant stakeholders.
  • Analyze and present monthly financial results and significant issues, offering recommendations to property leaders and senior management.
  • Proactively identify critical business challenges, formulate solutions, delegate tasks, and provide insights to enhance performance.
  • Oversee processes for gathering insights, whether on a recurring or ad hoc basis, and present findings to executive leadership with clear recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Reporting team and Corporate Accounting to ensure alignment with business requirements.
  • Conduct research and analyses to identify and quantify market trends.
  • Mentor and develop direct reports through training opportunities and skill enhancement initiatives.
  • Lead performance evaluations for direct reports and implement improvement plans.
  • Generate ad hoc reports as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years in financial analysis, with at least 1 year in a management role preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related discipline is required.
  • Familiarity with the casino/hospitality industry, particularly in regional markets.
  • Extensive experience in conducting Financial, Operational, Marketing, Labor, and ad hoc analyses, with a foundational understanding of accounting preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading project teams, demonstrating success through collaborative efforts that yield positive outcomes.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Experience with financial reporting systems, general ledger, casino management, lodging, and point of sale applications is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau, and Power BI.
  • Familiarity with SQL programming and statistical analysis tools is preferred.
  • Highly skilled in all Microsoft Office applications.
