Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Locomotive Mechanic to join our team at Marmon Holdings, Inc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our historic diesel/electric locomotives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and repair locomotive equipment to meet and exceed Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in diesel engines, air equipment, and other components.
  • Perform emergency repairs to locomotives and replace components as needed.
  • Conduct daily service of locomotive units, including fueling, watering, lubricating, and oiling.
  • Perform periodic and annual inspections and maintain accurate records.
  • Operate light and heavy cranes, fork lifts, and other vehicles as required.
  • Maintain written and computer records for maintenance and repairs.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Prior locomotive maintenance experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working on diesel engines.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of EMD locomotives.
