Job Title: Civil Engineer - Transportation/Infrastructure

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team in Visalia or Clovis office. As a key member of our Public Works team, you will work under the direction of a Senior Civil/Traffic Engineer or Department Manager to deliver a wide variety of transportation projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage traffic engineering design tasks, including roundabouts, traffic signals, signing, striping, temporary traffic control, roadway lighting, and pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
  • Prepare transportation impact analysis, warrant studies, speed studies, road safety studies, and other transportation-related studies.
  • Perform field work, such as site review during design and in support of construction.
  • Gather and analyze various data to complete special studies and make recommendations.
  • Provide quality control review and review engineering plans and studies for accuracy.
  • Assist with business development and marketing, including developing project scopes of work, budgets, and schedules.
  • Manage direct client interactions and communication with the public.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience in transportation/traffic engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in transportation, civil, or electrical engineering, or related major.
  • Currently hold a CA Professional Engineers (PE) license or can obtain it through reciprocity within one year.
  • Experience applying Caltrans, MUTCD, AASHTO, and various city design standards on a variety of projects.
  • Experience developing construction documents for transportation/traffic engineering projects.
  • Familiarity with preparing and reviewing traffic signals, signing, and striping plans.
  • Proficiency in traffic operations analysis software.
  • Experience completing transportation impact analysis reports.
  • Two years of experience utilizing CADD in roadway design and/or traffic engineering design.
  • Excellent technical writing and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and balance priorities among multiple projects.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Traffic Engineering (TE) License
  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification
  • Road Safety Professional (RSP) certification
  • Knowledge in municipal work, including capital projects, state and federal requirements, and local government policy and procedures.
Compensation:

The salary will be determined by the candidate's skill and experience level and will be highly competitive with industry standards. The benefits package includes full employee health coverage, company 401(k) contribution, participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP), and performance bonuses.

The expected pay range for this position is $90,000-$120,000 a year.
