Key Responsibilities:
The Speech Therapist in Home Health is tasked with assessing and evaluating patient needs related to speech and language disorders, as well as providing functional training in communication, swallowing, and cognitive challenges.
- Deliver services within the defined scope of practice according to state regulations, aligning with the care plan and collaborating with the healthcare team.
- Assess the patient's functional level through diagnostic tests and assist in developing the therapy care plan.
- Facilitate effective communication for patients by tailoring approaches to their specific conditions, adhering to professional standards.
- Educate patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members on relevant aspects of speech therapy.
Licensure Requirements:
- Must hold a valid Speech Therapy license in the practicing state.
- Current CPR certification is mandatory.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance, along with access to reliable transportation or public transit.
