Position Overview:
As an Echocardiography Specialist, you will operate under the guidance of the lab manager and medical director, conducting a variety of echocardiography examinations. Your role is crucial in delivering exceptional patient care utilizing advanced ultrasound technology and physiological equipment. You will also engage in clinical rotations across various settings and participate in after-hours and on-call services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Echocardiography Exams: Perform diverse echocardiography modalities, including 2-D, M-Mode, Doppler, and color flow Doppler imaging. Collaborate with qualified physicians during TEE procedures and apply independent judgment to accurately assess normal and abnormal findings. Ensure adherence to IAC-approved scanning protocols and utilize Smart Protocols whenever feasible.
- Operational Workflow: Rotate among multiple lab locations as required. Monitor the sonographer worklist to facilitate timely patient care and schedule exams through the transport system as necessary. Participate in after-hours, on-call, weekend, and holiday schedules.
- Equipment Management: Operate and maintain all lab testing equipment and software, including ultrasound and physiological devices, EMR, and PACS. Address any equipment issues promptly and maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas.
- Professional Development: Attend departmental meetings and educational conferences, contributing to discussions and staying informed about advancements in the field. Participate in data collection and research as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree from an accredited Radiology or Sonography program.
- At least one year of experience in echo sonography, with consideration for clinical rotations during formal education.
- In lieu of the above, five years of dedicated cardiac ultrasound experience may be accepted.
Certifications: ARDMS-RDCS or CCI(RCS) is required.
Skills and Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of vascular anatomy and hemodynamics, familiarity with medical terminology, basic computer proficiency, and knowledge of office equipment.
Work Shift: Day shift.
Location: Oconee Medical Campus.
