Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Specialist to join our team in Sumter, SC. This role will be responsible for supporting our supply chain operations, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and collaborating with technical departments to ensure quality requirements are met.

About the Role
This is a key position within our procurement team, reporting to our Procurement Manager. As a Purchasing Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Sourcing and evaluating quotations for single-item purchases, comparing prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with existing contracts or previous offers.
  • Advising on setting and maintaining minimum stock levels, ensuring timely fulfillment and resolving discrepancies.
  • Conducting supplier evaluations and assessments, analyzing market trends, and making informed buying decisions.
  • Maintaining ongoing supplier performance data for periodic review and initiating corrective action as necessary.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proficiency in IT systems such as SAP and Microsoft Office.
  • An agile mindset with the ability to find pragmatic solutions.
  • Relevant experience in operational purchasing or a similar environment.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary of $$65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
