Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Technician II to join our team at the City of Little Rock, AR. As a key member of our Fleet Services department, you will be responsible for performing advanced journey-level skilled and technical maintenance and repair services on diesel and gasoline engines, components, electrical systems, and transmissions of City vehicles and heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic testing and repair services on a variety of vehicles and equipment
  • Provide mechanical assistance to other employees as needed
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on City vehicles and equipment
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational-technical course in automotive mechanics preferred
  • At least two years of experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance, malfunction diagnosis, and repair
  • Valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License required; valid Arkansas Class B (Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License within 90 days of employment
  • Ability to possess and maintain required tools for the position
