We are seeking a Full-Time Echocardiography Specialist who will embody our core values of Love & Excellence to deliver the highest standard of care to our patients.

PRIMARY ROLE:

To conduct diagnostic cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) examinations as requested by physicians to aid in the diagnosis of cardiovascular conditions. Support the clinical education of students and Cardiology Fellows associated with the Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Lab.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conducts cardiac ultrasound examinations.
  • Records patient clinical history and technologist observations of the images obtained on examination request forms.
  • Assists the cardiologist in acquiring images and operating equipment during transesophageal echocardiography.
  • Participates in the training of cardiac ultrasound students and Cardiology Fellows during their practical sessions.
  • Rotates on an on-call schedule covering off-hours and weekend shifts.
  • Performs pediatric echocardiography, if qualified.
  • Demonstrates the skills and knowledge necessary to provide care suitable for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including understanding growth and development, the ability to gather and interpret information to identify patient needs, and deliver appropriate care.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associate degree from an accredited cardiovascular technology program.
  • Registry-eligible and must take the registry exam to become RDCS/RCS within the first year of employment.
  • Must pass the registry examination from either the ARDMS or RDCS.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Experience with IV saline contrast and Definity contrast.
  • Experience in Transesophageal echo, stress echo, dobutamine stress echo, and adult echo is preferred.
Work Schedule:
  • Sunday-Thursday: 9:30pm-6:00am
  • Holiday and call rotation will be necessary, along with flexibility for weekend coverage.
