Job Summary

This position administers quality patient care according to established standards. The Clinic LPN may delegate tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel. The role may require working in other areas according to the skill of staff and acuity of patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greets and prepares patients for provider examination and treatment, performing general nursing care to patients.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Assists providers with procedures and properly maintains equipment before and after procedures.
  • Engages in patient/family teaching to achieve the desired patient outcome.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a graduate degree from an accredited practical nursing program, or military equivalent, is required. Higher levels of education are acceptable.
  • LPN IV certification is required, with the state of Missouri or Kansas depending on the designated work location. New graduates must obtain LPN certification within 90 days post-graduation or IV certification upon hire or within one year.
  • Clinical and BCLS (Basic Life Support) certifications are required within 90 days of employment. A valid driver's license is also required for business purposes.
