Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The RN prepares equipment and assists physicians during examinations and treatments. The RN administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors patient vital signs. The RN observes and maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress.

Our Medical Surgical department is a team-oriented environment that values collaboration and mutual respect. We have an average daily census of 14 and a monthly census of about 400 patients. We treat patients with a wide variety of medical issues, including Pneumonia, Cellulitis, COPD, Diabetes, Heart Failure, Renal Failure, Chest Pain, and Liver Failure.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Able to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
  • One-year experience in nursing preferred.
  • Current Texas State RN License
  • CPR (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association) within 6 months of hire/transfer date
  • PALS (American Heart Association) within 18 months of hire/transfer date.
  • NIHSS required within 90 days of hire/transfer date.
