Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Apprentice Craftsperson to join our team at Tulsa Public Schools. As an Apprentice Craftsperson, you will assist the Master Craftsperson with repairing and maintaining district vehicles, including diesel, gasoline, and alternative fueled buses.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Master Craftsperson with repairs and maintenance of district vehicles
  • Perform preventative maintenance under the guidance of a Craftsperson or Master Craftsperson
  • Ensure all work is completed in a safe and efficient manner
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure all vehicles are in good working condition
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience in lieu of education
  • Two (2) years' experience as a bus mechanic
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical
  • Must be willing to obtain Class A CDL
  • Must be willing to acquire a Class "B" CDL with Passenger and School bus endorsement
  • State of Oklahoma School Bus Driving Certificate, Air brake, and School bus endorsement
