Job Overview

In the role of a Waste Stream Analysis Chemist, you will be tasked with conducting thorough examinations of waste samples in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the waste analysis framework. Your responsibilities will encompass managing inventory for laboratory reagents, maintaining samples and analytical instruments, performing data entry, and utilizing various analytical tools. You will also engage in essential filing and administrative tasks within the laboratory setting. Your contribution is vital in adhering to permit stipulations for the collection and testing of compounds and samples using appropriate methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
  • Document quantities, volumes, and analytical findings into waste management software.
  • Conduct QA/QC screening as required by permits.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety regulations, including the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment effectively.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Essential Skills
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in the hazardous waste sector.
Preferred Attributes
  • Strong ability to work independently.
Work Environment

You will report directly to the Operations Supervisor and will be the sole Chemist on-site. The position is situated in an industrial setting, requiring the ability to work autonomously. You will manage an 8-hour shift, processing between 15 to 30 samples daily, with flexible start times available.
