Medical Laboratory Technician/MLT Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician/MLT to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative tests using various lab instruments and/or manual methods on blood, plasma, urine, CSF, stool, and/or body fluids following standard operating procedures.
  • Comply with all established standards and practices pertaining to test performance, including laboratory procedures, hospital procedures, CAP guidelines, JCAHO guidelines, and within the institution's policies regarding compliance.
  • Perform quality control procedures as needed and established by protocol. Analyze quality control data, make judgments on observed results, and take appropriate action to ensure accuracy and precision are maintained.
  • Identify abnormal patient results; recognize factors that affect measurements/results, and take appropriate action; seek assistance in resolution as needed.
  • Perform and document equipment maintenance, calibration, quality control, and other trouble-shooting procedures.
  • Recognize equipment malfunctions, document problems as may be required, perform trouble-shooting and repair in accordance with established guidelines. Alert supervisor/manager/designee as needed.
  • Communicate results to physicians or other authorized healthcare providers as may be required and/or appropriate. Ensure proper documentation of calls.
Requirements:
  • ASCP certification (or equivalent)
  • Associate Degree in Science (minimum)
  • Previous lab experiences preferred but will accept new grads
