About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to lead our mechanical function at Verterra Energy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a mechanical engineering team, managing mechanical vendors, and leading the development of technologies for our modular hydropower technology and peripheral systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of mechanical engineers to design, develop, and implement mechanical systems
  • Lead the development of mechanical and subsea systems, including design, testing, and integration
  • Manage multiple programs and projects, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems with other technologies
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in a related discipline, such as mechanical engineering or ocean engineering
  • Deep understanding of subsea or offshore environments and related engineering challenges
  • Experience leading teams and making an impact as an individual contributor
  • Familiarity with mechanical component and hardware identification and selection
  • Understanding of mechanical systems design and integration
  • Ability to perform bench and field testing
