Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Placement Specialist to join our team at Goodwill Industries of Central Texas. As a key member of our Business Solutions team, you will play a critical role in securing paid work opportunities, externships, and internships for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify job leads and negotiate opportunities with employers to benefit our clients and graduates.
  • Understand employers' needs and develop tailored plans to support their workforce requirements.
  • Advocate for our target populations, educating Central Texas employees on workforce prospects.
  • Assess client skills and readiness for employment to ensure successful matches.
  • Provide guidance to clients on employment procedures and interviews.
  • Performance evaluation will be based on employee identification, interviews secured, and monthly job placements.
  • Maintain balanced placement ratios within specific target populations.
  • Keep precise information on employers and clients up to date in relevant databases.
  • Contribute to meeting placement targets and success metrics.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field and a minimum of three years' experience in a similar capacity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Understanding of Goodwill services, community resources, and networking.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.
  • Ability to focus on customer needs to ensure stakeholder expectations are met.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Extended periods of desk work and computer usage.
  • Occasional lifting up to 15 pounds.
  • Physical activities such as walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and talking or hearing.
  • Ability to handle moderate stress levels. Specific vision capabilities including close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
