Position Overview

Role Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive clinical nutrition consultations in collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Conduct thorough nutrition assessments for both inpatient and outpatient populations, focusing on those at high nutritional risk.
  • Design and implement tailored nutritional care plans that consider diet history, laboratory results, and individual medical needs.
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families regarding specialized dietary requirements.
  • Document all assessments and recommendations accurately in the medical record system.
  • Engage actively in team discussions and rounds to ensure cohesive patient care.
  • Prescribe enteral and parenteral nutrition as necessary, demonstrating expertise in clinical nutrition.
  • Continuously update educational materials relevant to pediatric nutrition therapies.
  • Serve as a valuable resource for the medical team and community regarding nutritional care.
  • Coordinate nutritional strategies with various healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Participate in on-call duties as part of a collaborative dietitian team.
Professional Development
  • Engage in ongoing education to maintain professional credentials and enhance expertise.
  • Contribute as a speaker or author on pediatric nutrition topics as opportunities arise.
  • Meet continuing education requirements to uphold registration and licensure.
  • Adhere to the Clinical Nutrition Ladder standards as applicable.
Research and Evidence-Based Practice
  • Stay informed on the latest research and clinical guidelines in nutrition.
  • Collaborate on research initiatives with interdisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field; a Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Experience in clinical nutrition, particularly in pediatric settings, is highly desirable.
  • Must fulfill continuing education requirements to maintain registration and licensure.
  • Obtain the Registered Dietitian credential within the specified timeframe post-hire.
  • Achieve Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist status through the appropriate regulatory body.
  • Additional certifications in specialized areas of nutrition are advantageous.
