Role Summary:
Under the guidance of the Financial Reporting/Projects Manager, the Budget Management Specialist will play a crucial role in assisting SC CTSI teams with various financial, payroll, and administrative tasks. This position encompasses a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Assistance:
- Facilitate purchasing processes for SC CTSI.
- Aid faculty and staff in addressing inquiries and executing financial transactions, including procurement of supplies and travel arrangements.
- Manage department purchase orders, invoice payments, and travel reimbursements.
- Collaborate with external vendors and accounts payable to resolve discrepancies.
2. Payroll and Billing Management:
- Oversee recharge billing, including invoice preparation and payment processing.
- Handle payroll accounting adjustments and departmental pay authorizations.
3. Grant Administration:
- Support grant closing reviews and assist with annual progress reports.
- Contribute to budget preparation for grant proposals and ensure timely submission of proposals.
4. Financial Planning and Reporting:
- Assist in the development of short- and long-term budgets through data compilation.
- Monitor account activities to ensure compliance with university and agency guidelines.
- Prepare monthly financial reports for various programs and grants.
5. Administrative Support:
- Perform administrative tasks, including managing inquiries and assisting with office operations.
- Coordinate meetings and events, ensuring all logistical needs are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
- Proficient in budget management and government accounting principles.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in automated spreadsheets.
