About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair mechanical equipment, including motors, pumps, and controls.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of patient care equipment, such as beds, carts, and blood pressure devices.
  • Assist with monitoring utility systems to guarantee efficient operations.
  • Perform routine to moderately complex general maintenance functions, including carpentry, painting, and snow removal.
  • Compute job costs and order necessary parts, equipment, and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with construction, remodeling, and maintenance projects.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and perform equipment safety checks.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Typically requires 1-2 years of experience in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and cooling (HVAC).
  • Current driving record that meets Aurora fleet safety standards.
  • Knowledge and basic proficiency in electricity, plumbing, HVAC, steam fitting, soldering, carpentry, fabricating, and groundskeeping.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to problem solve.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, bend, twist, climb, and reach above shoulders at least 50% of the workday.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs from floor to overhead, lift up to 50 lbs from floor to chest-level, and lift and carry up to 50 lbs at waist height a reasonable distance.
  • Must be able to push/pull with 50 lbs of force.
  • May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards.
