Position Overview

The Pharmacy Cashier plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service within a retail pharmacy environment. This position involves welcoming customers, addressing inquiries, expressing gratitude, and ensuring efficient service. Responsibilities include processing transactions, handling payments, overseeing merchandise flow at the register, and maintaining a tidy workspace.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Completion of a pre-employment drug screening is mandatory.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old and available to work during all pharmacy operating hours.
  • Provide a warm greeting to customers, respond to their questions, and ensure a courteous service experience.
  • Efficiently scan items as they move from the conveyor belt to the packaging area using the appropriate scanning equipment.
  • Utilize handheld scanners or manually enter item numbers when necessary.
  • Ensure accurate transfer of each item as it is scanned.
  • Monitor merchandise passing through the register to maintain precise inventory records.
  • Seek supervisor approval for high-value items.
  • Assist in the transfer of merchandise and packaging of orders while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Process payments accurately, including cash, checks, EBT, credit, and debit transactions, following departmental procedures.
  • Conduct register counts at the beginning and end of shifts, manage cash orders, and maintain accurate cash levels.
  • Perform related tasks such as restocking, cleaning the work area, and organizing returned products.
  • Fill propane tanks for customers, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.

Compensation: $15.00 to $16.00 per hour
