Job Summary:

Youth Villages is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated High School English Teacher to join our team. As a member of our Residential Treatment program, you will play a critical role in providing a supportive and structured environment for our students to thrive.

About the Role:

We are looking for a qualified and passionate English Teacher to teach high school students in a clinical setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with at-risk youth.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lesson plans to meet the individual educational needs of students
  • Administer and interpret testing to determine academic needs
  • Develop and implement a variety of teaching techniques to promote student growth and development
  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate records in compliance with school guidelines
  • Participate in training and in-service activities to enhance professional development

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in education with appropriate certification (K-12)
  • Must obtain licensure in TN with an endorsement in English within 90 days after the first day of employment
  • Experience in special education or teaching experience in a clinical environment is preferred
  • Experience working with at-risk youth is a major plus
  • Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
