As a Medical Laboratory Technician at CHRISTUS Health, you will play a vital role in providing accurate and timely laboratory results to support patient care. Your responsibilities will include performing clinical testing, quality control, and proficiency testing in the general laboratory, Blood Bank, and Microbiology sections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory tests and procedures to analyze patient samples and provide accurate results.
- Perform quality control and proficiency testing to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
- Recognize and report critical values to the medical team in a timely manner.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the laboratory team, including data entry and record-keeping.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of blood products as requested by medical staff.
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program.
- MLT (ASCP)/(AMT), CLT (NCA) or eligible.
- Diploma or transcript and designated certification/license or eligibility are required at the time of hire.
- Licensure as required by State.
- Registered as MLT(ASCP) or MLT(ASCP) or CLT(AMT) or equivalent is required within 60 days of Hire.
