Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our team at Novant Health. As a key member of our radiation oncology team, you will be responsible for providing expert knowledge of radiation properties, treatment planning, and delivery techniques to ensure the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate treatment plans for patient treatments as needed.
  • Advise physicians and therapists on proper patient simulation setup and treatment delivery techniques.
  • Ensure safe and effective delivery of radiation treatment by following necessary safety protocols.
  • Perform quality assurance procedures to ensure the safe operation of radiation equipment.
  • Provide special physics consults to radiation oncologists as needed.
  • Perform weekly chart checks in accordance with department policies.
  • Maintain continuing education and professional development.
Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a Master's degree in Medical Physics or a related field, and certification in therapeutic medical physics from the ABR or ABMP. A minimum of 3 years of experience in radiation oncology physics is required, with 5 years of progressive experience preferred.
