Job Summary

Medical Services at CU Boulder is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to provide patient care, collaborate with providers, and participate in quality improvement activities. This role will work 80% time from August through May and 50% time during June and July.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough and accurate medical evaluations and design a treatment plan in accordance with medical guidelines and standards.
  • Communicate with and educate patients regarding their medical condition, follow-up care, and preventive measures.
  • Prepare and maintain thorough, accurate, and clear medical records which justify the diagnoses, treatment(s) and billing codes.
  • Make appropriate use of Pharmacy, Laboratory, Radiology, Physical Therapy and other ancillary services in clinical decision making in accordance with the standard practice of medicine.
  • Participate with other staff nurse practitioners and physicians, sharing a proportionate patient load and clinical responsibilities.
  • Participate in accredited continuing medical education to acquire and maintain the professional knowledge and skills needed to carry out the responsibilities of the position.
  • Maintain current and appropriate nurse practitioner credentials including a Colorado Nursing License, prescriptive authority, National Certification and DEA registration.
  • Participate in the implementation of the Medical Clinic Process Improvement activities.
Requirements
  • Eligible for clinical privileges as determined by the WHS Credentialing and Privileging Department.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • National certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse (such as ANCC).
  • DEA Registration.
  • Full prescriptive authority in state of Colorado upon hire.
  • 2 years of experience as an Advance Practice Nurse.
  • Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner with State of Colorado upon hire.
What We Offer

The annual salary range for this 80/50 position is $68,625 - $82,500. Salary is dependent upon candidate's years of APN licensure.
