The Opportunity

RS&H is seeking a Senior Principal Highway Engineer to join our Transportation Practice in Miami or Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Job Summary

The Senior Principal Highway Engineer will lead the analysis and design of roadways and highways, manage project teams, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality results. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing roadway and highway analysis and design efforts
  • Leading project teams and mentoring staff
  • Coordinating with discipline key task leaders and staff
  • Performing quality control on deliverables
  • Meeting project deliverable schedules and budgets
Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in roadway and highway engineering
  • Florida professional engineering (PE) registration
  • Experience managing conventional and design-build projects for FDOT and county clients
  • Working knowledge of MicroStation, Geopak, and/or OpenRoads Designer
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience managing complex highway projects, including intersections, arterials, interstates, and interchanges
  • Experience working with large multi-discipline teams
  • Engineer of Record experience in FDOT highway projects
  • Experience delivering FDOT District Wide and/or Continuing Services Contracts
