The Acoustic Testing Specialist will be tasked with setting up and executing acoustic laboratory assessments (under supervision) on various construction materials and components. This is an entry-level position with comprehensive on-the-job training provided.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Document and track test samples
  • Coordinate construction and testing activities
  • Assemble wall, floor-ceiling, and roof structures, as well as filler wall assemblies and test openings
  • Verify calibration status of testing instruments
  • Prepare and mount test samples
  • Disassemble, cut, and dispose of samples, while storing necessary materials
  • Participate in internal Basic Acoustics and Project Management training sessions
  • Familiarize with acoustic testing standards and procedures
  • Assist in various testing areas to gain practical experience
  • Handle shipping and receiving tasks as required
  • Maintain tools and equipment; manage inventory; ensure cleanliness of the workspace
  • Perform additional tasks as needed
Qualifications for Success:
  • High School Diploma or GED, or an associate's degree
  • Experience in general construction or carpentry
  • Proficiency in using power tools
  • Technical ability to comprehend and communicate testing procedures, specifications, and outcomes, along with a mechanical aptitude
  • Capability to accurately measure using a tape measure
  • Physical capacity to regularly lift at least 75 pounds
  • Ability to sit, stand, crouch, bend, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, push, pull, etc., as required for job duties
  • Willingness to follow instructions and work under supervision
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong motivation and work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to travel as business needs arise (typically short trips)
  • Must possess reliable transportation
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (required)
