Job Responsibilities:
The primary function of the Aviation Equipment Specialist is to support Viasat customers at various airports by performing maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and return to service of the Viasat Broadband System onboard customer aircraft. This role will ensure that all work performed meets company, airline, and FAA regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial aircraft systems, specifically electrical and avionics equipment troubleshooting and testing. This role will involve complex assignments that require considerable judgment, initiative, and technical knowledge to resolve problems and/or develop recommended solutions.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Viasat's Customer Support Center (CSC) and Planning to ensure effective maintenance and repair services.
- Conduct regular maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks in accordance with company, airline, and FAA regulations.
- Work may be assigned primarily at Denver Airport, but occasional work may be required at various airports, including LAX, DEN, SFO, EWR, IAH, ORD, and other locations.
- Assist in diagnostics checks on the Viasat system installed onboard customer aircraft.
- Provide training to maintenance vendors and airline personnel on the Viasat system.
- Ensure all necessary tooling and equipment for maintaining the Viasat system are available and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with the Line Maintenance Supervisor to develop improved maintenance and preventative maintenance procedures for the Viasat system.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other team members to ensure they have a thorough understanding of the Viasat system.
- Provide feedback to vendors and airline partners regarding the Viasat system and propose solutions for areas of continuous improvement.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks and may be sent on field maintenance calls.
Requirements and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in assisting customers with the planning and execution of aircraft line maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- A strong track record of documenting maintenance work with an emphasis on accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical information to a variety of audiences.
- A strong ability to meet deadlines and exceed customer expectations.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights and overnights.
- This is an FAA safety-sensitive position, and participation in our Drug-Alcohol program is required.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
- Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and occasionally internationally.
- Must reside within local proximity to Denver International Airport.
What We Offer:
We offer a competitive salary range of $29.52 - $49.57 per hour. In addition to base pay, you may be eligible for cash or stock incentives as part of the compensation package.
