Job Summary
As the Lead Auditor, you will play a crucial role in assessing business processes and internal controls. Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute compliance, operational, and financial audits to ensure adherence to regulations and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Oversee all phases of the audit process, including risk assessment, planning, development of audit programs, execution, and communication of findings to senior management.
  • Collaborate with various teams to identify process enhancements that can lead to cost savings or increased revenue opportunities.
  • Conduct detailed analytical testing and review corporate policies for compliance with internal auditing standards and regulations.
  • Identify control deficiencies and communicate best practices to senior leadership.
  • Lead special projects as needed and manage tight deadlines effectively.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and coaching to team members.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in compliance and/or auditing.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment, internal controls, and auditing principles.
- Familiarity with information technology controls and data analytics.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Ability to develop audit programs and testing workpapers in new areas.
- Effective communication skills with peers, stakeholders, and leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Big 4/Public Accounting.
- Background in the mortgage industry and consumer regulatory compliance auditing.
- Relevant certifications such as CPA, CIA, or CISA.
- Technical skills in using Audit Command Language (ACL) or similar data mining tools.
