Support Services of Virginia is dedicated to empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in Lynchburg, VA.

As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in achieving their goals and aspirations. You will work collaboratively with our team to provide personalized support, promote independence, and foster a positive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily lives
  • Assist with daily tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores
  • Encourage and support individuals in pursuing their interests and goals
  • Collaborate with the support team to develop and implement personalized support plans
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to pass background checks and tuberculosis screening
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification and Medicaid Waiver Certification required
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
