Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Planned Parenthood of Greater New York. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and education to our patients.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing nursing care to patients during all phases of exam and treatment, including obtaining and assessing patient medical history, counseling on medical procedures, and assisting physicians with medical procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of reproductive health and a passion for providing patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:
  • Obtain and assess patient medical history and counsel on medical procedures
  • Assist physicians with medical procedures
  • Provide nursing care to patients during all phases of exam and treatment
  • Counsel patients on contraceptive techniques and describe medical procedures
  • Interview patients to determine and assess medical and social history
  • Assist clinicians with conducting medical procedures
  • Prepare patients for exams and procedures
  • Participate in administration of moderate sedation to surgical abortion patients
  • Evaluate patient post-procedure status and administer medication as prescribed
Requirements:
  • Certification of Registered Nurse License in New York State
  • Minimum Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent
  • 1+ years of nursing experience, preferably in a reproductive health or ambulatory surgical services setting
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to start IVs and administer IV medications
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
