About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our team at Henderson Products. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of supplier management within a defined commodity scope.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, delivery, and total cost objectives are met.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Plan and schedule visits to suppliers to ensure effective communication and identify supply deficiencies.
  • Implement lean/JIT inventory management systems, including kanbans, stocking plans, and milk-run delivery methods.
  • Utilize MRP and other tools to support established production schedules and expedite exceptions as required.
  • Collect and analyze data sets from multiple sources to inform strategic decisions and drive margin improvement.
  • Develop and implement a three-year strategic plan for the commodity, including spend and cost trends, supplier performance, and supply chain optimization.
Requirements
  • Four-year college degree in procurement, supply chain management, industrial management, or business administration.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of commodity focus.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong teams and operate cross-functionally.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to promote best total cost for the company.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software, MRP/ERP Systems, and presentation software.
