Job Overview

The Vehicle Appearance Specialist plays a vital role in the meticulous cleaning and restoration of automobiles to improve their aesthetic appeal and preserve their market value. This position encompasses comprehensive interior and exterior detailing tasks, including washing, waxing, polishing, vacuuming, and deep cleaning. A successful candidate will possess a sharp eye for detail, a robust work ethic, and a dedication to delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exterior Detailing:
    • Thoroughly wash and dry the vehicle's exterior using a variety of cleaning products, brushes, and cloths.
    • Apply protective wax, polish, and sealants to enhance and safeguard the vehicle's paint finish.
    • Clean and shine wheels, tires, and chrome elements.
    • Eliminate tar, insects, and other contaminants from the vehicle's surface.
  • Interior Detailing:
    • Vacuum and shampoo carpets, seats, and upholstery to ensure cleanliness.
    • Clean and condition leather, vinyl, and plastic surfaces to maintain their quality.
    • Remove stains, pet hair, and unpleasant odors from the interior.
    • Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces for clarity.
    • Dust and clean the dashboard, console, and other interior components.
  • Engine Cleaning:
    • Clean the engine compartment, removing grease, oil, and dirt.
    • Apply protective coatings to engine parts as necessary.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Inspect vehicles post-detailing to confirm all work meets established quality standards.
    • Address any overlooked areas or spots requiring further attention.
    • Perform final touch-ups to ensure the vehicle is ready for customer delivery.
  • Maintenance of Tools and Equipment:
    • Organize and maintain detailing tools and equipment in optimal condition.
    • Ensure all cleaning supplies and agents are properly stored and replenished.
    • Report any equipment issues or supply shortages to management.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
    • Comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding the use of cleaning agents and disposal of hazardous materials.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry parts and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to cleaning agents and outdoor elements.
Work Environment
  • Primarily within an automotive service environment.
  • May involve exposure to loud noises, dust, and fumes from cleaning agents and vehicles.
