Role Summary

The Safety and Security Analyst is responsible for conducting thorough research and analysis across various databases to identify and validate trends related to sales, inventory loss, point of sale ("POS"), stock keeping units ("SKU"), and overall profitability. This role leverages departmental tools such as digital surveillance systems, POS monitoring frameworks, and SKU inventory reports to detect and substantiate instances of fraud. The analyst will be accountable for achieving departmental objectives concerning inventory loss, accidents, fraudulent transactions, and cash discrepancies, necessitating the ability to investigate root causes and propose innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and enhance targeted analytics to support investigations into inventory loss, focusing on identifying root causes. Analyze SKU-level inventory data to uncover theft patterns and validate losses associated with internal, external, and vendor theft. Conduct reverse analysis of shrinkage issues to pinpoint origins and recommend preventive measures.

2. Provide recommendations for the refinement and management of the company's POS monitoring system, ensuring effective oversight for both investigative and operational performance. Engage in feedback surveys regarding asset protection and safety initiatives, analyze outcomes, and suggest improvements to minimize losses.

3. Collaborate with business partners to create and refine reporting metrics for asset protection audits, utilizing data-driven insights to identify challenges and opportunities at various organizational levels.

4. Conduct audits of processes impacting inventory loss, accidents, and cash discrepancies, employing digital surveillance tools to assist field teams. Perform investigations into theft and accidents, utilizing all legal avenues and adhering to established investigative protocols. Identify safety risks and advise management on preventative measures.

5. Monitor alarm system exceptions and generate specific reports for corporate and field teams. Conduct surveillance of retail and distribution locations to identify potential criminal activities, providing support during crisis situations in collaboration with law enforcement.

6. Undertake additional job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Course of Study:

Criminal Justice, Business Administration

Relevant Experience:

0 - 3 years minimum

Language Requirement:

English

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, business administration, or a related field with at least two years of experience in asset protection, loss prevention, or forensic auditing.

- Proficiency in forensic audit tasks and investigations.

- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

- Strong communication skills in English.

- Authorization to work in the United States.

- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background checks.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Certifications such as Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Protection Professional (CPP).

- Financial acumen and the ability to provide innovative solutions.

- Proficiency in database systems.

- Excellent analytical and investigative skills.

- Ability to travel occasionally, including overnight stays.

- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights and weekends.

Work Environment:

This position is based in a corporate support center with minimal exposure to adverse working conditions. Physical demands include sitting, using hands for various tasks, and occasionally lifting up to 10 lbs.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel may be required.
